You know those free books that you run into on iBooks? This is where I found A Job From Hell by Jayde Scott.
A Job From Hell begins with 17 year old, Amber, who gets a job in Scotland as a maid for the mysterious, startling, handsome, and young billionaire Aiden McAlleister. Amber is strangely drawn to Aiden, because of an ancient supernatural bond that causes the two to immediately fall in love. Amber stumbles upon Aiden’s world full of dangers, and accidentally enters a race with detrimental consequences, as severe as death. She is soon stuck in a situation where all eyes are on her to complete a dangerous mission into different realms in an effort to save her life.
A Job From Hell is the perfect book for an easy, fun read. It is a young adult fiction book, with the timeless thrill of blood drinking vampires. Aiden and Amber’s love is a classic Romeo and Juliet story, full of forbidden romance. The writing is not spectacular, but the story keeps you intrigued.
One thing I didn’t like about the book was that it was too basic. The story was cute, but there are dozens of others quite like it. Additionally, the characters didn’t really seem to grow. In an outstanding book, the characters seem to go through impossible trials and come out with immense knowledge and a better understanding of their situation. While Amber comes to light about her situation and the fact that she is supernaturally meant to be with Aiden, she doesn’t run with the information and use it to become a stronger person.
Again, the book is perfect if you are looking for an easy, fun read. It is great for quickie on a Saturday!
Here is a quick peak of the prologue!!
It’s said people can sense their imminent death. Maybe they hear death’s song in the wind. Or the earth stops turning for a second, mourning those who are yet to pass. I spotted none of the signs when I dragged my tired body though their world, waiting for the winged demon guardians to pick me up and drop me back on the threshold to the world of the living.
